Beautiful Garden
Designed by one of the two master gardeners in the San Diego high county,
the elegantly laid out garden maintains color in all seasons. The native
garden was designed by Greg Rubin, native plant specialist. The garden
has seven zones and include one for fruit trees, a kitchen garden of herbs
and vegetables, three front zones of draught tolerant native plants and perennials,
and four mixed zones near both driveways. There are 23 fruit trees and
include almond, pomegranate, 2 apricots, 3 pears, 2 fig, 2 quince, 2 apple,
4 plum, 2 nectarine, Japanese Persimmom, a lemon, a tangerine, and a kumquat.
In addition, there are 6 kinds of grapes (3 eating and 3 for wine making),
and boysenberry and raspberry bushes.
An automated irrigation system (designed by Rewater) uses gray water with an underground release utilizing gray water emitters. This gray water is extended by backup rain water from a 3000 gallon tank. Fresh water is used to complete the water cycle if needed.
